DO NOT PAY FOR THEIR OWN TRADING CARDS? Agencies

sponsors to support the cost of their trading
cards. Please read further to see how to present
this highly successful and extremely popular program
to potential sponsors.

| Why
Sponsor Cards? |
 |
Sponsorship
is a show of support for your agency and
the community. |
 |
This
is a tax deductible donation. |
 |
Sponsorship is a great
way to advertise business. |
| How
To Obtain Sponsorship |
 |
Use
our downloadable sample Sponsorship
Letter and complete the indicated
information. You may also customize for
your specific needs. Print it on your
department letterhead stationary. |
 |
Present
this letter either by personal visit or
via the mail, along with a sample trading
card, to each potential sponsor. Extra
trading cards containing sponsor acknowledgements
are provided to you for this purpose. |
How
Many Sponsors/How Many Dollars?
Number
of sponsors per card is limited only by
space on the card backs. If sponsor includes
name, address, phone # and logo, we suggest
no more than two sponsors per card. |
 |
Calculate
the cost of each of your cards, including
sales tax (CA customers only) and shipping.
Then also calculate the total cost of
your cards. |
 |
Decide
on which of the following methods to use:
| 1 |
Each
person getting a trading card
obtains their own sponsor.
Provide each person with the department
sponsor letter and sample cards
to present to potential sponsors,
and request they support the cost
of one card. |
| 2 |
Obtain
several sponsors to split the
cost of the cards, equally.
Designate one or more people to
present the sponsor letter and
sample cards to several potential
sponsors, advise them of total
cost of cards and request their
support for a portion of the total
cost.
Example:
You are doing 10 cards at a cost
of $160.00 each for a total cost
of $1600.00. Request a minimum
donation of $160.00, which entitles
the sponsor to be on one card.
Each additional $160.00 entitles
them to be on another card. They
then determine their amount of
participation. |
| 3 |
Obtain one sponsor
to donate the entire cost of the
cards. |
